A DREDGING PROJECT
A DREDGING PROJECT
A dredging project
Richard and the team were asked to take on a project that a previous contractor had failed to accomplish .
The request was to dredge the pond, however the issue was that there were several natural springs feeding the pond.
To begin the project fencing had to be removed and placed to one side for reinstating and some conifers had to be removed.
A 5 ton excavator and a 13 ton long reach excavator were transported to site along with a 6 ton dumper.
Aggregates were delivered and tipped in the lane. They were then moved and compacted on the bank to stabilize it.
The long reach excavator could then be tracked into position on the stabilized bank.
The pond was then drained using our industrial diesel pump . the pump was running continuously to prevent the pond refilling from the natural springs.
A ramp was created to allow access into the pond with the smaller excavator.
The smaller excavator was then tracked into the pond.
The long reach began dredging the pond.
The silt and debris was loaded into the dumper and tipped into a designated area.
The smaller excavator then began moving silt and debris towards the long reach to continue loading the dumper.
When all the silt and debris was removed the bank at the far end was reshaped.
The ramp was then removed.
The aggregates that were on site was then used to create a new pathway.
The plant was collected and the fence was reinstated.
The team then cleared the site and left it in as clean and tidy a condition as possible.
The clients were very pleased with the end result and gave a review which can be read in our testimonials on our home page.
