POND IN ESSEX DE-SILTED AND RESTORED

R & M Ponds restored a pond near Dunmow in Essex. The pond was overgrown with a damaged bank.

Richard and the team pumped the water down then proceeded to remove the reeds and silt using a specialised long reach excavator and a standard excavator.

Using a hydraulic post knocker (designed by Richard) oak sleepers were driven vertically into the ground near the bank edge to form the shape of the revetment wall.By drilling and bolting Oak sleepers horizontally to the posts, the wall was formed. The revetment wall was secured using oak posts and retainers behind the wall and sunken below the bank.

The bank was Backfilled with aggregates, top soiled and grass seeded to finish the project.
