REFURBISHMENT OF A GARDEN POND

Refurbishment of a garden pond.

We transported our small  holding tank and our submersible pump to the site in Lavenham, Suffolk.
The team pumped some water from the pond to fill the small holding tank.
The fish were then netted and transferred to the small holding tank, they were then relocated to a new home.
We completely drained the pond.
A small excavator and a three ton dumper were delivered to the site.
We had to track the plant through a meadow to get it to site.

An area of meadow was scrapped of topsoil down to the subsoil, for the pond debris to be tipped.
Using the small excavator, reeds, silt and mud were excavated from the pond.
This was loaded into the dumper and tipped into the meadow area as previously agreed with the clients.
The old liner was removed and disposed of offsite at a certified location.
Levels were taken using our laser level and the banks of the pond reshaped.
A key trench was excavated around the circumference of the pond.
A new underlay and E.P.D.M. liner was supplied and installed.
The underlay and liner was secured into the key trench.
We began to fill the pond and the key trench could then be backfilled. Soil was then hand raked and the area grass seeded.
The plant was collected and the site was left in as clean and tidy a condition as possible.
In the words of the clients “ we did not realise the amount of work required and are thrilled with the outcome ”.
