pond and ditch work was required at a property on the Suffolk/Essex border.
initially the team drained the pond using our 4″ industrial towable pump. We then had an 8 ton long reach excavator and a 3 ton excavator delivered to site. A 9 ton dumper was also delivered to site.
Once the long reach excavator was tracked into position the team began excavating the pond.
Reed, weed, silt and debris was excavated from the pond and loaded into the dumper and tipped in the corner of the customers meadow.
The smaller excavator was then tracked to the bottom of the pond to reach the ditch inlet and far roadside bank. From there the team were able to move the silt and debris towards the long reach to continue loading the dumper.
Once the pond was completely cleared work could begin on the ditch clearance.
The roadside hedge was faced back using chainsaws. Trees and undergrowth was cleared up to the ditch to allow us to track the excavator to the ditch.
Once the excavator was in place the ditch was dredged and unblocked.
The banks of the ditch were then reshaped to improve the flow of water into the pond.
Machinery was then collected and the site was left in as clean and tidy a condition as possible.
